Raised by Robert and Nancy, artists and educators who engaged their world with ingenuity and a beginners mind, my home was steeped in formative expression.
From silkscreening in the dining room to off-Broadway openings in NYC to open discussions about our changing times, I was inundated with craft, novelty, and provocative points of view.
Following art school, I began my career as a CG artist and game designer, contributing to eight published titles before the immense potential of the internet caught my curiosity.
Fueled by a how might we mindset, I entered the arena by cutting my teeth as an art director designing websites, screensavers, and interactive campaigns, and then as an information architect and interaction designer within product spaces.
Over the years, I explored numerous design methods, discovered opportunities to build online community, navigated the machinations of various business models, and took on the challenges found within diverse problem spaces—all while collaborating with a wealth of talented netizens.
Heading into my thirties, I shifted into management consulting and corporate leadership at an interactive agency and then ran a design studio for a decade. Since then I’ve led design & research functions in five companies across a range of business life cycles. I’ve brought leadership and targeted design thinking & doing to industries spanning retail to fintech, media publishing to healthcare, and biotech to pharma, including time in academia and nonprofit spaces.
In 2023 I founded Plasticity—an incubator to develop ideas and literature to help young adults transcend the effects of early life trauma wounds.
I’m available for advising, coaching, and coffee. ☕️
